Sugar Maple, Red Oak, White Ash, and White Oak so far this year in order by volume.

BUT... There is a Basswood next to the sugar maple I am cutting and some aspen up the hill... I can find white pine, red pine, box elder, cottonwood, black ash, eastern red cedar (juniper)...

Should I go up some notches in ranking?????????

    I like sugar maple.
    I adore sugar maple.
    I love sugar maple.
Sugar maple is my FAVORITE firewood!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sugar maple addiction is going to kill my ranking.

Tomorrow I will drown the sorrow of my competitive spirit in SUGAR MAPLE.

I do not get sugar maple every year but when I can: I am a GLUTTON. I had a three year run of cutting nothing but sugar maple (2016-2019). Sugar Maple dries quicker than red oak and has the same or more heat.

Sorry, I do not carry a photo device, just me + an Xterra (the astro was recycled) + a Makita 14" battery chainsaw + wedge + sledge, and SUGAR MAPLE!!!!!

Full disclosure: I have permission to cut some dead black locust after I have gorged on SUGAR MAPLE.

This is the only evidence I have left. I turned the leftover into firewood.

I rarely have my phone in my pocket sometimes but more often not I don't have it. Close by ; yes, but in my possession no.
Then part two is remembering. At my age that's not happening.

I have no idea how many different species I cut up and loaded on the truck today....

A couple different hickory sticks, a few different oaks, and several kinds of maple.
Nothing split yet, unless you count noodling....
