I got some doug fir! Still have to split it though.... But still, I've never had it before so I am excited to try it.

Basswood.jpg I'll jump into this. In the last week I've acquired, left to right, red oak, soft mail, hop hornbeam, white ash, yellow birch, popple. Forgot to add the basswood, split into kindling today. I envy the variety some of you get. Contest.jpg

Got the doug fir split. Sure sounded good in the splitter.

It has a really nice resounding pop when it splits.

It’s loaded with sap, wavy and ready to burn down houses. I dropped a big sticky knot right into the fire pit for Saturday :MM:

I'm working on as much ash as I can, while I can before it goes bad. So the total number is species will be limited for me for a few more years as it has for the last 4-5 years.

Nice stuff there. Kinda on my bucket list of woods to score. I've only scrounged one small trunk.

Not split yet but I took the picture and am posting it because it will just get lost in the pile of rounds but here is some pin oak.

Nice. I've cut some like that before, didn't know what kind of oak it was.

They really like to shoot off a lot of branches in close proximity along the trunk from my experience.
