Kaolin clay products. It s a white clay that is mined in this area. Some is used as pigments in paint, compounding rubber and vinyl products, concrete industries... I run a calciner, type of kiln. This is the kaolin exiting the bottom...about 1700°F
A few pictures of our plant... Our Hydrous clay bagger (not calcined) and warehouse. It puts empty bags on spout, fills them, goes on conveyor that squeezes the air out, stencils bags and stacks on pallet. 2-3 men run this machine. These are all 50# bags. This is one of our semi-bulk baggers. It fills bags from 1000-2205#. 4 men run this system, can produce over 100 tons per side daily. They got the tanks set about 6:00PM...not quite as tall as the other one... The tanks had a good journey here...over 1100 miles On special trailers Got a couple pictures with the counterweight on the crane...
I've been looking for a guy to "hook me up" with some calcinated kaolin clay! I find it fascinating how all of these base types additives/products uses are discovered, processed and found uses for. Maybe if I was a chemist.... or something else that I'm not Cool pics Jeff
I bet that "pit" they're digging it out of is very interesting after a good rain! Talk about stuck vehicles and heavy boots.
