I had some TSC branded pellets last year, and I believe they were Appalachian hardwoods, or something like that. Burned pretty decent.
Most likely they were Energex/Premier Pellet. So we know 4 so far. I suspect AWF(which TSC has already been dealing with) might also be in the line up. Most of the ones I have seen bag for them have been available at the TSC stores in the past. I have seen Premier's(Appalachian hardwoods and Stove Chow)- Lignetic's(Green label hardwoods/Pres To Logs)- Hamers(hardwood heat/Statesmen)-AWF at my local store before they started using the TSC branded bags. At one point they also carried Somersets and they could still be using them, But not confirmed. I wouldn't doubt that TSC would use other mills if needed.
Appalachian hardwoods is Cheat river I picked up 10 bags last year during the shortage at TSC , my buddy Steve O aka slvblkk ran the UPC code confirmed they was Chit rivers , not my favorites, had a bad batch before, these were ok
Just saw that Sib is sold out of mwp until first week of November. Looks like they might be out of the lacretes for a few weeks and crabbes for a couple weeks also. The beginning of a pellet shortage?
I'm wondering if MWP is having production issues or is just selling everything they have to TSC. HD in Augusta doesn't have them this year. FSU only. But I was told HD in Waterville has MWP only. I'm supposed to get 3 tons of FSU delivered Oct. 7. If they show up I'll have 5 tons. If not, I'm screwed.
Ahh, I forgot you guys found that out. I suppose I should create a list of what we have found so far that we could look back on. Post it in the pellet bag and sticky it for future reference? See if you can find the UPC code on them(chit river) and I'll see which ones I have.
I not sure its a production issue. More likely a rush on the supply causing a crunch(something the forecasters also mentioned). The orders are coming in faster than they can supply them. Might take a bit for them to catch up. I'll see if Scot L can offer some input. I'll send off an email to see whats up.
Going to be near the Tractor supply in Farmington this weekend. Have to see if they have anything when im there.
I added them to the first post of this thread and made it a sticky Keep your eye out for others and post the UPC findings and I'll added them as we go.
I picked up 4 tons of then earlier this month. A sore back, but well worth it. In light of the post subject, I had made some calls and spoken to the Griswold, CT TSC and they have 6-7 brands which you may want to look into. I recall instant heat, pure fire, TSC red label hardwood, and there were others. Good luck.
I went by the MWP plant last Friday on my way up north for the moose hunt. The plant sits down in a hole with trees blocking the view except down the driveway, so at 50 mph you don't get much of a look. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of product in the yard compared to other times I've been by but the cloud of steam in the air indicated they were running. So I'd say they're selling everything they're making at this point.
