Is that all steel? What are they paying out your way? I was quoted $135/ton last week.

Been hauling more wood home. I spoke with the landowner today about how I was almost done hauling the 10+ cords he gave me. He piped up and said he had another pile below the house and even more somewhere else on the property. He said "we can keep you supplied with firewood".

This is one of many loads. Today's haul was 2 cord, and we split half of it as soon as we got home. The rest will get split right off the truck tomorrow and we will get another load. 20240411_145415.jpg

We got the 2 cord from yesterday split. I will probably go out and work on a couple of saws this evening. I have a 361 and a 660 to put back together. The 361 is a customer saw and the 660 is for my brother. He wants a saw to cut wood with and he likes bigger toys. He is a big guy though, so he will have no problem using a 660 as a daily cutter.

I'll take y'alls word for it. I was guessing paper birch but I never had it before. They said it was creating too much shade where they wanted sunlight.

its river birch, we have a lot of it here, super, super strong trees, I had one last year probably 22" diameter and ~40ft tall that I was dropping, 1/4" of hinge wood and it still stopped half way and didn't hit the ground!

One of four trips to the compost center. There were some pretty decent rounds there and some chunked up Red Oak. I didn’t bother taking anything given my current stack situation.

buZZsaw BRAD I got “carded” at the compost center and so did everyone around me. They were checking for residency.

I have a soft spot for BL. Kinda hard to come by up here in CT. Its around by not often scored. I love finding old blow downs and clean up wood as the stuff doesn't rot. Cut a load today.
