One pot simmering down ham bones. One pot simmering down rib roast bones. Both doing their thing on the wood stove.

Ham and beans with cornbread for new years dinner. Daughter will probably do beef, veg and barley for the cold fishing/boat days coming up.

What does everyone do with their leftovers? Always looking for new and different ideas.

I’ve started being the one visiting for the holidays so my leftovers are nonexistent

We don't have fresh leftovers this year  I didn't feel well and went to bed very early, they made home made raviolis, cooked and ate 1/2, froze the rest for new years :)

Hopefully you’re feeling better today WW. How are fairing with your teeth?

I forgot about pea soup for the ham, haven’t had that in a lot of years.

Oh gosh, thank you :) I am better today, burned the candle on both ends before Christmas Eve and the Christmas Day, but a bunch of sleep last night

Teeth are hanging in there, next appt is March. I skipped husbands garlic crusted scallops Christmas Eve, it appears I have no self control over crunching the hard garlic and cracking teeth, I'll have some again when teeth are fixed.

We always make ham and bean soup with ham bone, eat it all year long. Sometimes we make it twice a year, Christmas and Easter. YUM

Got a pot of ham and cabbage soup going at the moment. I had a ton of leftover ham and just happened to have a head of cabbage in the fridge too.

Just a heads up to anyone.

Realized I was way low on beans and swung into the dollar store. Used to be 16oz pounders, then 14 oz, now down to 12 oz. In the same bags thought only about 2/3 full now. Adjust your purchasing accordingly.

Daughter said no slow cooker, she likes on the stove top better. Start simmering first thing Sunday morning.
