    Well this brings back memories! I started out cutting orchard apple. I do not miss all that work!

    Agreed, one is enough. :) With all the large straight-grained oaks in the world at your disposal, it doesn't make much sense to chase gnarly little apple trees, even if they are free. I cut my first apple in April 2020, then cut an entire load at an orchard score in October of that same year. Didn't come across any more until I cut one at the Dollar General this past December. Kind of a rare score around here so I use it very sparingly now.

    Maybe 10-12" at the base and full of metal wire to boot. The trunks forked into a plethora of branches at about 5' off the ground as well. That was work.
